St. Mary's is a special school for a lot of reasons...
• The
Benefits of a Religious Education
In a society in which the mass media constantly inundates our children
with the images of desire and materialism, we have a choice to
provide our children with a safe haven of peace and moral stability.
St. Mary's School is just such
as safe place. Helping our students form a religious identity and moral responsibility
is a top priority. Students take part in the weekly liturgy, including readings
psalm response, cantering, ushering, serving, and gift bearing. Religion
is a part of the daily curriculum at St. Mary's to help our children
build a sense of accountability for their actions and a deep-seated
compassion for others.

From receiving the Sacrament of Holy Communion
in the second grade, to a group of fifth graders forming a prayer
circle for the sick and needy, religion is intricately woven into St.
Mary's education to help our children with the choices they must make
as they mature in today's complex world.
• A
Sense of Community
Catholic
and non-Catholic families alike share a profound
sense of community within the fold of the St. Mary's School family.
From over 300 volunteers that helped with donations and labor to
construct our state-of-the-art playground, to school and parish
picnics and camp outs, bake sales, Holiday
greens sales, the Spring
Concert, Market Day™,
the annual St. Patrick's Day dinner, to remembering those no longer
with us at the lighting of the Parish Christmas tree, St. Mary's
families work, play and worship together to invoke a strong bond
of community to this extended family.
Ours is a sharing, caring family that laughs and strives
together to make our school a unique and nurturing environment
for our children's education.
• Essential
Parental Support and Involvement
From the Home and School
Council and our elected
School Board, parent involvement is an essential facet of our school's
very existence. Our school is funded solely from the St. Mary's Parish
and tuition, donations and fund raisers of St. Mary's School families.
Be it carpentry, or accounting,
to a pair of hands setting up an event, there is an appropriate
place for the talented contributions of all St. Mary's parents. But
our true sense of community and support begins in the halls and classrooms
of St. Mary's School. After the bustling activities before the morning's
first bell, you'll always find a group of parents gathered to discuss
the next school event, take up concerns with our administrative staff,
or reorganize a carpool schedule for a hard working family.
• A
Tradition of Academic Excellence that Begins in the Classroom
Inside
the classroom, another community is forming among teachers and students.
St. Mary's School has one classroom of students per grade. This provides
our children with an intimate educational environment that builds lifelong
bonds of friendship between both our students and their accredited instructors.
As your child achieves each step of a quality education at St. Mary's School,
from Leaps and Bounds Pre-school for threes, fours, and fives, through
sixth grade, he or she will grow and mature surrounded by the comfort and
familiarity of old friends and teachers sensitized with the knowledge of
your child's strengths, needs and challenges – academically,
socially, and spiritually. Since there is so little turnover among St. Mary's School instructors, it's highly likely each of our teachers
will know your child through the graduation ceremonies from kindergarten
to sixth grade. This knowledge, along with the individual attention gleaned
from our small classroom size, if the foundation of the tradition
of academic excellence at St. Mary's School.
